Eliminates origination fees on Federal Direct loans under the Higher Education Act of 1965.

The Student Loan Tax Elimination Act amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 to eliminate origination fees on Federal Direct loans. This change applies to loans for which the first disbursement of principal is made, or the application is received, on or after July 1 following the date of enactment of this Act. The bill repeals the origination fees as specified in section 455 of the Higher Education Act of 1965.
