Western Refined Fuel Reserve Act of 2025

Establishes a Western Refined Fuel Storage Reserve as part of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

The Western Refined Fuel Reserve Act of 2025 directs the Secretary of Energy to establish a Western Refined Fuel Storage Reserve within six months of enactment. This reserve, part of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, will store gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel in salt cavern formations in Western States. The Secretary must identify suitable locations, enter into agreements for their use and operation, and fill and maintain the reserve at 75% of its minimum capacity for five years. The Secretary may withdraw stored products to address emergencies or supply disruptions.
