The Streamline Transit Projects Act amends chapter 53 of title 49, United States Code, to allow eligible transit agencies to assume responsibility for categorical exclusions under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. Eligible recipients, located in urbanized areas with populations over 200,000, can assume these responsibilities if they demonstrate capacity to the Secretary. The Secretary provides technical assistance and monitors compliance.
