ATF Improvement and Modernization Act of 2025 removes restrictions on firearms data and inspections.

The ATF Improvement and Modernization Act of 2025, also known as the AIM Act, repeals several provisions that restrict the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) from using firearms data and conducting inspections. It removes prohibitions on processing Freedom of Information Act requests about arson or explosives incidents or firearm traces, searching computerized records of federally licensed firearms dealers who are out of business, and imposing requirements for physical checks of firearms inventory.
