The FARM Act mandates that original equipment manufacturers provide documentation, parts, software, and tools to owners and independent repair.
The Freedom for Agricultural Repair and Maintenance Act, or FARM Act, requires original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to make available documentation, parts, software, firmware, and tools on fair and reasonable terms to equipment owners and independent repair providers. These resources must be used for diagnosing, maintaining, upgrading, reprogramming, or repairing farm equipment. The Act prohibits OEMs from imposing additional costs or burdens that are not necessary or designed to impede repair.
