The LABEL Act strengthens country of origin and method of production labeling for fish.
The LABEL Act amends the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 to require explicit labeling for farm-raised and wild fish. This includes displaying the country of origin and method of production in a conspicuous location, ensuring the information is readable and understandable under normal purchase conditions. The labeling must be in a font size equal to or larger than the font size used for the fish description. The changes will take effect 180 days after the enactment of the Act.
