The COOL Online Act requires that new products of foreign origin sold online must disclose their country of origin and the seller's location. This applies to products listed by manufacturers, importers, distributors, sellers, suppliers, or private labelers. Exceptions include used or previously-owned articles, certain drugs, and agricultural products. The Federal Trade Commission will enforce this act, treating violations as unfair or deceptive acts. The act will take effect 12 months after an interagency agreement is published.
