The AI LEAD Act, or Aligning Incentives for Leadership, Excellence, and Advancement in Development Act, sets federal guidelines for artificial intelligence systems to ensure safety and innovation. It mandates that developers and deployers of AI systems cannot include clauses in contracts that waive rights or limit liability. Foreign developers must designate an agent for service of process in the U.S. before deploying their AI products. The Attorney General maintains a public registry of these designated agents.
