S.2735

Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Land Transfer Act of 2025

Introduced·9/8/25

The bill transfers specific federal land in California into trust for the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians.

The bill revokes Public Land Order 3309 and transfers jurisdiction of the land to the Secretary of the Interior. The Secretary must place approximately 80 acres and 185 acres of land into trust for the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians within 180 days of the bill's enactment. The land will become part of the Tribe's reservation and will be subject to general laws governing trust property. The bill prohibits the use of the land for class II or class III gaming. Before placing the land into trust, the Secretary must review the land to determine if a survey is necessary.
