Federal Employee Return to Work Act prohibits teleworking federal employees from receiving annual pay adjustments.
The Federal Employee Return to Work Act defines a "covered employee" as one who teleworks at least one day per week or 20% of the time under an alternative schedule. Such employees cannot receive annual pay adjustments. Exceptions include disabled employees with accommodations, Foreign Service members, federal law enforcement officers, active-duty military, and others not working at specified sites. Covered employees will be paid based on the "Rest of U.S." locality pay area without future adjustments. The Act takes effect at the start of the first full fiscal year after enactment.
