American Grown Act mandates that certain agencies only procure cut flowers and cut greens grown in the United States.
The American Grown Act restricts funds for procurement of cut flowers and cut greens to those grown in qualifying areas, defined as states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, or federally recognized Indian Tribe jurisdictions. This applies to procurements by the Executive Office of the President, the Department of Defense, and the Department of State. Additionally, covered agencies may only accept gifts of non-qualifying cut flowers or cut greens if the origin is clearly displayed and an additional qualifying cut flower or cut green is displayed concurrently.
