Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act of 2025 provides public safety officer benefits for exposure-related cancers.
The Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act of 2025 amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to provide benefits for public safety officers with exposure-related cancers. It defines exposure-related cancers and presumes exposure to a carcinogen as a personal injury if it occurs in the line of duty and results in death or permanent and total disability. The Director of the Bureau must review and update the definition of exposure-related cancer every three years, considering petitions from the public.
