S.2333

Health Records Enhancement Act

Introduced·7/17/25

Health Records Enhancement Act requires the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs to allow updates to deceased veterans' health records.

The Health Records Enhancement Act mandates the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs to permit updates to the health records of deceased veterans. These updates can be made by a designated individual or, if none is designated, by an immediate family member. The updates must supplement, not modify, existing information. The act defines "immediate family member" and "deceased enrollee" for clarity.
