Hospital Inpatient Services Modernization Act extends Medicare waiver for hospital care at home until 2030 and mandates a study on its effects.

The Hospital Inpatient Services Modernization Act amends title XVIII of the Social Security Act to extend the waiver for acute hospital care at home under Medicare until 2030. It also requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct a study analyzing the criteria for patient eligibility in the Acute Hospital Care at Home initiative and comparing various metrics between in-home and inpatient care. The study must be submitted to Congress by September 30, 2028.
