BEACON Act establishes an Office of Inspector General in the Executive Office of the President.

The BEACON Act amends the Inspector General Act of 1978 to create an Office of Inspector General within the Executive Office of the President. This office will conduct evaluations to assess classification policies and identify practices contributing to misclassification. The Inspector General must submit reports to Congress and the President, and the President can prohibit certain audits or investigations to protect sensitive information. The Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency will audit the Office of the Inspector General annually.
