The Global Respect Act of 2025 aims to impose sanctions on foreign persons responsible for human rights violations against LGBTQI individuals. The President must submit a list of such individuals to Congress every 180 days. Foreign persons on this list are ineligible for visas and admission to the United States. The President can remove individuals from the list if credible information indicates they did not engage in the activity for which they were added, have been prosecuted, or have demonstrated a significant change in behavior.
