Algorithmic Accountability Act of 2025 requires impact assessments of automated decision systems.

The Algorithmic Accountability Act of 2025 mandates the Federal Trade Commission to require impact assessments of automated decision systems and augmented critical decision processes. It defines "covered entity" as a person, partnership, or corporation that deploys an augmented critical decision process or uses identifying information about more than 1,000,000 consumers. The Act requires covered entities to conduct impact assessments, including evaluating potential negative impacts on consumers and documenting mitigation strategies.
