The POLICE Act of 2025 makes the assault of a law enforcement officer a deportable offense.
The POLICE Act of 2025 amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to make any alien convicted of, admitting to, or committing acts that constitute an offense involving assault of a law enforcement officer deportable. The law enforcement officer must have been assaulted while performing official duties, because of their duties, or due to their status as a law enforcement officer. The Secretary of Homeland Security must submit an annual report to Congress and make it publicly available on the Department of Homeland Security's website, detailing the number of aliens deported under this provision.
