Pay Our Correctional Officers Fairly Act increases locality pay rates for Bureau of Prisons employees in "Rest of U.S." pay locality.
The Pay Our Correctional Officers Fairly Act amends title 5 of the United States Code to increase locality pay rates for certain Bureau of Prisons employees. Specifically, employees in the "Rest of U.S." pay locality will be considered to be in the nearest other pay locality. If no Bureau of Prisons facility is within 200 miles, they will be paid based on the nearest similar wage area. The changes apply to pay periods starting 180 days after the act's enactment.
