Veterans Housing Stability Act of 2025 modifies VA housing loan administration to prevent or resolve defaults.
The Veterans Housing Stability Act of 2025 modifies the administration of housing loans by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to prevent or resolve defaults. The bill establishes a Partial Claim Program, allowing the VA to make partial claims on loans in default or facing imminent default. The VA can pay loan holders to avoid foreclosure and require borrowers to enter noninterest-bearing agreements to repay the partial claim at loan maturity. The VA may also require a secured interest in the property or agreement from the loan holder to remit the reimbursed portion of the indebtedness.
