Protect LNG Act of 2025

Introduced·5/22/25

Protect LNG Act of 2025 ensures litigation does not affect LNG export permits.

The Protect LNG Act of 2025 aims to safeguard liquefied natural gas (LNG) export permits from the impact of environmental litigation. It ensures that civil actions related to environmental reviews do not invalidate permits, licenses, or approvals for LNG facilities. If a court finds a violation in an environmental review, it must remand the matter to the relevant federal agency for resolution, while the agency continues processing other applications. The act also mandates expedited judicial review for such cases and sets a 90-day limit for filing claims after a permit is finalized.
