The Axing Nonmarket Tariff Evasion Act (ANTE Act) amends the Trade Act of 1974 to authorize the U.S. Trade Representative to investigate and impose remedial measures on entities that evade duties imposed on nonmarket economy countries. The Trade Representative can initiate inquiries into covered entities, which are defined as entities owned, controlled, or operated by nonmarket economy countries. If an inquiry determines that an entity is evading duties, the Trade Representative can impose measures such as duties on goods produced by the entity in third countries.
