S.186

No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2025

Introduced·1/22/25

Prohibits federal funding for abortions and requires disclosure of abortion coverage in health plans.

The bill prohibits federal funds from being used for any abortion, except in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother. It also prohibits federal funds from being used for health benefits plans that cover abortion, except under the same exceptions. The bill amends the Affordable Care Act to disallow refundable tax credits and cost-sharing reductions for health plans that cover abortion. It requires health plans to disclose the extent of abortion coverage and any related surcharges. The changes apply to plan years beginning after December 31, 2025.
