Limiting Immunity for Assisting Backers of Lethal Extremism Act or the LIABLE Act
The Limiting Immunity for Assisting Backers of Lethal Extremism Act, also known as the LIABLE Act, amends title 28 of the United States Code to clarify that international organizations are not immune from the jurisdiction of U.S. courts in cases related to terrorism. Specifically, an international organization is not immune from jurisdiction if money damages are sought for personal injury or death caused by acts of torture, extrajudicial killing, aircraft sabotage, hostage taking, or the provision of material support or resources for such acts.
