Introduced·4/10/25

The FIGHT Act of 2025 amends the Animal Welfare Act to enhance protections for roosters and prohibit gambling on animal fighting ventures.

The FIGHT Act of 2025 amends the Animal Welfare Act to provide greater protection for roosters by defining "rooster" as any male member of the Gallus Domesticus species older than six months. It prohibits the use of the U.S. Postal Service or other interstate instrumentality to transport roosters. The bill also makes it unlawful for any person to knowingly sponsor or exhibit an animal in an animal fighting venture, attend such a venture, cause an individual under 16 to attend, or gamble on such ventures.
