The Every State Counts for Veterans Mental Health Act requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to prioritize suicide prevention grants for states.
The Every State Counts for Veterans Mental Health Act amends the Commander John Scott Hannon Veterans Mental Health Care Improvement Act of 2019. It requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to prioritize consideration of any eligible entity located in a state that has applied but not received a grant. If no entity in a particular state has received a grant, the Secretary must give all eligible entities in that state a scoring preference until at least one grant is awarded to an eligible entity in that state.
