Ruby Mountains Protection Act withdraws federal land in Nevada from mineral leasing laws.
The Ruby Mountains Protection Act withdraws approximately 309,272 acres of National Forest System land in the Ruby Mountains subdistrict of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and 39,926.10 acres of National Wildlife Refuge System land in Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge from all forms of operation under the mineral leasing laws. This withdrawal applies to land acquired by the United States after the enactment of this Act. The withdrawal does not apply to noncommercial refuge management activities by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
