Introduced·4/8/25

Advancing Grid-Enhancing Technologies Act of 2025 establishes a shared savings incentive for developers of grid-enhancing technologies and mandates.

The Advancing Grid-Enhancing Technologies Act of 2025 creates a shared savings incentive for developers of grid-enhancing technologies, which are hardware or software that improve transmission facilities and technologies. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) must establish this incentive within 18 months of enactment, returning a portion of the savings to developers over three years. The Department of Energy (DOE) is tasked with creating an application guide for utilities and developers, which will be updated annually.
