Allows the Secretary of State to rehire certain former Foreign Service members without exams.
The Foreign Service Test-Free Reentry Act of 2026 amends the Foreign Service Act of 1980 to allow the Secretary of State to rehire former career members of the Foreign Service who were involuntarily separated or retired as part of a reduction in force or other expedited retirement process between January 20, 2025, and January 31, 2030. These former members must have been serving in good standing at the time of their separation or retirement. The bill exempts these individuals from any written or oral examinations or other qualifications required for rehiring.
