The Nuclear Regulatory Modernization Act of 2026 amends the Nuclear Energy Innovation and Modernization Act to make certain improvements relating to mandatory Nuclear Regulatory Commission hearings. It modifies the authority of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to regulate construction for issuing a license for a uranium enrichment facility and the right to a hearing for those affected by a proceeding. The Act also allows the Commission to issue certain licenses without a hearing if no request for a hearing is made, provided there is a 30-day notice period.
