American Space Leadership for the 21st Century Act authorizes actions to counter space security threats and requires consultations with Congress.

The American Space Leadership for the 21st Century Act authorizes the Secretary of State to enter into international agreements with allies and partners to enhance U.S. outer space security. It requires the Secretary to consult with Congress on threats to U.S. space security and notify Congress of any significant changes in adversary space postures. The Act also mandates the Secretary to lead diplomatic efforts to mitigate space security threats, pursue international norms and risk reduction measures, and engage in space security dialogues with allies and partners.
