H.R.9572

Clarifies land eligibility for the conservation reserve program under the Food Security Act of 1985.

The BUFFER Act amends the Food Security Act of 1985 to clarify land eligibility for enrollment in the conservation reserve program. It modifies the criteria to include land subject to local resource-conserving or environmental protection measures, except when such requirements are imposed by administrative or court orders. This change aims to enhance ecological resilience by ensuring that more farmland can be enrolled in the program, promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
