Introduced·6/30/26

Military Housing Innovation Act requires a study on point-access block design for military construction projects.

The Military Housing Innovation Act mandates the Comptroller General to conduct a study on the use of point-access block design for military construction projects. This study will assess the costs and benefits of revising the Unified Facilities Criteria/DoD Building Code to allow such designs. The study will compare life safety and fire safety outcomes, assess the impact on the rental housing market, and evaluate the effect on military housing quality and costs. The findings will be reported to the Committees on Armed Services of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
