The Working Families Home Construction Act of 2026 permits the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation and the Federal National Mortgage Association to purchase and securitize certain residential construction loans. These loans must be for the construction of owner-occupied dwelling units. The loans can be used for acquiring land, professional services, developing infrastructure, construction, developer incentives, and municipal fees and permits. The loan amount is capped at $100,000 per dwelling unit, with a total project limit of $2,400,000.
