The LIFT the BAR Act amends the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 and other laws to restore eligibility for certain benefits to noncitizens. It repeals sections of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 that restrict benefits for noncitizens and replaces the term "alien" with "noncitizen" throughout the act. It also restores eligibility for noncitizens in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Child Nutrition Programs, and the Children's Health Insurance Program.
