The Prior Authorization Accountability Act mandates that group health plans and health insurance issuers disclose specific information about prior authorization requests. Starting from January 1, 2027, these entities must submit and publish details on their public websites. Required information includes a list of items and services subject to prior authorization, the percentage and number of approved and denied requests, the outcomes of appeals, the time taken for initial determinations, and the use of technology in decision-making.
