H.R.9371

The SLASH Prices Act mandates disclosure of personalized algorithmic pricing and prohibits discrimination against consumers who opt-out.

The SLASH Prices Act, also known as the Shedding Light on Algorithms Setting Higher Prices Act, requires businesses to disclose when they use personalized algorithmic pricing to charge different prices for the same goods and services. This disclosure must include a notice stating that the price was set by an algorithm using personal data and must be prominently displayed. The Act also mandates that businesses provide a mechanism for consumers to opt-out of such pricing and prohibits discrimination against consumers who choose to opt-out.
