Medic Education and Deployment Into Civilian Careers Act of 2026 aims to improve transition of medics into civilian health care occupations.

The MEDIC Careers Act of 2026 establishes a pilot program to award grants to eligible providers, including rural health clinics and nursing homes, to support hiring, training, and retention of Armed Forces members transitioning to civilian health care occupations. The program aims to improve access to and quality of civilian health care services by these members. The Secretary of Defense must develop recommendations to enhance the transition of medics into the civilian workforce, including aligning military credentials with civilian equivalents and increasing access to preparatory activities.
