The Northern Montana Water Security Act of 2025 settles water rights claims for the Fort Belknap Indian Community. It ratifies and confirms the Fort Belknap-Montana water rights compact, authorizes the exchange and transfer of certain federal and state land, and allocates water from Lake Elwell. The bill also establishes the Aaniiih Nakoda Settlement Trust Fund for the Fort Belknap Indian Community. The act authorizes appropriations for the implementation of the compact and the exchange and transfer of land.
