The COOL Online Act mandates origin and location disclosure for new foreign products sold online.
The COOL Online Act requires online sellers to disclose the country of origin and seller information for new products sold on the internet. This applies to commodities, meat, poultry, and egg products. Exemptions include used or previously-owned items and small sellers with annual sales under $20,000 and fewer than 200 sales. The Federal Trade Commission will enforce these requirements, with penalties for violations. The Act also mandates an interagency agreement for consistent implementation.
