The Military and Veterans Fuel Discount Act of 2026 authorizes the Secretary of Defense to provide discounts on motor fuel sold at exchange stores and dispensed directly into vehicles owned by eligible patrons. The base discount is at least 18.4 cents per gallon for gasoline and 24.4 cents per gallon for diesel. The Secretary may also offer additional discounts if state or local taxes apply. The program will terminate on September 30, 2029, and requires annual reporting to Congress. The Secretary must update regulations to prevent fraud, abuse, and resale of discounted fuel.
