The Federal Biotechnology Workforce Assessment Act directs the Director of the Office of Personnel Management to assess the biotechnology workforce needs of certain federal agencies. The assessment includes identifying the number of biotechnology positions required, the qualifications needed, and challenges in developing the workforce. It also proposes solutions, identifies mechanisms for accessing outside expertise, and evaluates the use of current employees with additional training. The Director must submit a report to Congress within 180 days of the Act's enactment.
