Establishes a grant program to modernize technology in state and local governments to improve public service security and efficacy.

The State and Local Public Sector Innovation Act establishes a grant program to modernize technology in state and local governments. The Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information will distribute grants to state technology departments, with at least 70% of each grant going to political subdivisions. Grant funds can be used for technology modernization, including purchasing or updating technology, conducting testing, updating permitting processes, establishing cybersecurity systems, hiring and training staff, and transitioning to post-quantum cryptography.
