Lower Grocery Prices Act mandates a study on grocery costs for U.S. consumers over the past 20 years.

The Lower Grocery Prices Act requires the Comptroller General of the United States to conduct a comprehensive study on changes in the Consumer Price Index for food at home over the past 20 years. The study will also include other relevant economic metrics to assess the impact of food costs on U.S. consumers. Within 180 days of the act's enactment, the Comptroller General must submit a report to the appropriate committees of Congress, detailing findings and recommendations to help lower food costs for consumers.
