H.R.8785

Medium Transit Intensive Cities Authorization Act of 2026

Introduced·5/13/26

Medium Transit Intensive Cities Authorization Act of 2026 provides funding to medium-sized cities with high transit performance.

The Medium Transit Intensive Cities Authorization Act of 2026 amends the federal transportation code to create a formula for apportioning funds to urbanized areas with populations between 200,000 and 999,999. These areas must meet or exceed industry averages in one or more performance categories, such as passenger miles traveled per vehicle revenue mile. The Secretary of Transportation will calculate these apportionments using data from the national transit database.
