Prohibits downgrading of law enforcement positions in the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The VA Police Recruitment and Retention Act of 2026 prohibits the downgrading of law enforcement positions within the Department of Veterans Affairs. It nullifies any position downgrades proposed, initiated, or carried out from October 1, 2025, to the enactment date of the Act. Employees affected by such downgrades will be returned to their previous status and receive all entitled pay. The Act also bans future downgrades of these positions and the use of federal funds for such actions.
