The Don Young Doug LaMalfa Indian Buffalo Management Act aims to assist Tribal governments in managing buffalo and buffalo habitat and reestablishing buffalo on Indian land. The Secretary of the Interior is directed to enter into agreements with Indian Tribes and Tribal organizations to transport surplus buffalo onto Indian land. The Act also authorizes contracts, grants, and technical assistance to support buffalo restoration and management programs, commercial activities, and meat processing facilities.
