The NSF Plant Biology Act amends the National Science Foundation Authorization Act of 2002 to authorize the Director of the National Science Foundation to award competitive grants for plant and microbial biology research. This research must have potential relevance to agriculture, food, or biotechnology. The bill authorizes $150,000,000 for each fiscal year from 2026 through 2031. Grants can be awarded to institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations, private sector entities, and federal, state, local, or tribal governments, or consortia of these entities.
