NASA C-UAS Act authorizes NASA to detect, identify, monitor, and track unmanned aircraft systems that pose threats to certain facilities and assets.

The NASA Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System Authority Act, or NASA C-UAS Act, authorizes the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to conduct research, testing, training, and evaluation of equipment for detecting, identifying, monitoring, and tracking unmanned aircraft systems or unmanned aircraft. This includes intercepting communications used to control these systems. NASA must coordinate with the Secretary of Transportation to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the national airspace system.
