Burma designated for temporary protected status for 18 months starting November 25, 2025.

Burma designated for temporary protected status under the Immigration and Nationality Act for 18 months starting November 25, 2025. Burmese nationals in the U.S. since the bill's enactment are eligible for temporary protected status. The Secretary of Homeland Security must consent to travel abroad for those granted status if they have emergency and extenuating circumstances. Returning aliens are treated like others under temporary protected status.
